• Numbers & Coincidences

These one-of-a-kind contemplative abstract works on paper (not limited editions) are silkscreen prints that may include other forms of printmaking techniques including monoprinting, collograph, painting and assemblage. Though many printmakers rely on the traditions of making limited editions with say 100 of the same kind, my art exploration is process-based and not edition-based. I treat the printmaking process similar to my painting process as a way to explore the images by working within a type of serial format.  In music this could be similar to an improvisation where there are hints of one improvisation in another -where there are stylistic and formal similarities, but each improvisation stands on its own as a unique expression. All of these works depend on layering, editing, and drawing throughout, similar to the painting process. These works were inspired by many influences in my life such as music, the look of various eastern languages, gestural painting from Asian and Western painting, and even cracks in asphalt roadways. They are purposely not titled for you to access the work as you wish.
